If I count correctly, this is entry number 5 for the year. Amazing! But the blog is not dead yet.  I continue to get web hits. My post with the drumline sheet music is now beating the Fireproof posts for the most hits.  Of course, Fireproof is gaining lots of momentum as it gets closer to its opening day, September 26.

For the most part, it was an enjoyable experience. I was able to make friends with older classmates, enjoyed playing the drums, liked the competitions, enjoyed eating an Arby’s sandwich on a bus ride back to the school, was terrified of and thrilled at band camp, and got to play in Neyland Stadium (home of the Vols) for a professional pre-season football game.

We (drumline) were very good my second year. I remember placing third in a state competition.

I recently found some sheet music from those days in some music books I saved. Here is the “Street Beat” from my sophmore year. The drumline used the street beat to march the band into the stadium and parades.

I plan to post them all soon. The above link is to a hi-res version that can be printed.
