I choose to build the site on the Wordpress platform because of its ability of blogging (a prayer journey leading up to the conference) and custom themes over Adobe’s Flash and E-zekiel. The latest version of Wordpress, 2.5, was used with the following plugins: Kimili Flash Embed and Ultimate Google Analytics. If comments were open on the site, Akismet would have been turned on as well.

Brian and Bobbie Houston’s website was the starting idea or inspiration for the site design, my new friend Bryan Haynes pointed me in the right direction to embed the Flash portions into IE, and dhawker quickly found bad links and graphic issues. Thanks for your help.

Please pray for his wife, who is pregnant with their first child, and family.

Filming was stopped until after the Thanksgiving holidays.  Jim and Alex went to Florida to help and minister to the family for the week.  Many more will be attending the funeral tomorrow.

Filming begins Monday morning and will continue off and on for the rest of the year minus the holidays.

If you are interested in the main cast, an almost complete list has been posted over on the Sherwood website. You might be surprised by at least one name on the list. I will add a link after the announcement Sunday morning.

Dee and I have both been offered a spot as “extras” in one of the scenes. I am more excited about it than Dee. These roles came about from our tryouts for the main roles. You can read about that experience here.

First, the first version of the script was completed this week.

Second, all but one of the main characters have been chosen.

Filming begins pretty soon.

Our bad news is your good news: we did not get a call-back. The movie will be much better without us in the lead roles. We are secretly hoping for minor roles but have heard nothing.

The audition was a strange experience. I was not bothered by the camera or the four people who were deciding our fate. It was much more emotional that I thought it would be; I was keyed up for most of the evening. I got to read with someone else who may still being considered for a major role. She and I were asked to read and act through the major fight scene which has yelling and lots of tension. I was surprise how drained I was after yelling and fighting with someone I barely know, fighting about something that isn’t even real.

I wanted the part more after the audition than I did when I went in.

We enjoy laughing with those who tried out with us.

Looking back, we should have gotten a script sooner, learned the lines, and figured out quicker what the casting people and writers were looking for. I think we played ourselves with different lines instead of acting out the parts.

It was cool night.

The major difference for this movie will be the speed in which they have to write.  They wrote Flywheel and Facing the Giants a little bit at a time in the evenings over a several month stretch.  This time, Alex and Stephen will probably put in about the same number of hours into the script but in a much shorter time span.

The ability for them to focus on the project will greatly increase while the time for second-guessing themselves will decrease.

It is exciting to see this project gearing up.
