Top Ten – How to Turn Your Kids Off to Church
By revsonic on Oct 5, 2006 in Church
Here is a new top ten list given in the first message of Desperate Households sermon series. If it is not obvious, it is meant to be funny and a contrast on helping your kids enjoy church.
10. Schedule personal and family events to conflict with church activities.
9. Don’t develop close friends in the church so there are no examples of godly friendships.
8. Look at your watch in church.
7. Talk bad about tithing.
6. Make sure the kids get all the homework done, get to practice on time but don’t worry about being on time for church.
5. When family is in town, stay home with them unless it is Mother’s Day, Easter or Christmas.
4. Don’t volunteer to serve or make any commitments to the church.
3. When the preacher tells you he expects you to come back on Sunday night and you don’t want to – change churches.
2. Point out all the mistakes that the preacher and staff make especially at Sunday lunch.
1. Whatever you do, make sure whatever you “sing” and “say” at church – have nothing to do with how you live rest of the week.
